About andy

Ten years in climate policy, carbon accounting, sustainable finance, and food systems taught me one thing: our biggest problem is not a lack of solutions, but stories.

Too often, the news excels only at telling us what is going wrong.

I created Granite Goodness to be one of the few media organizations focused on what is going right.

Our belief is simple: optimism isn't naive, it's pragmatic. When solutions go unnoticed, we lose sight of what’s possible and how to do better. Granite Goodness exists to change that.

This is not fluffy good news about cats being rescued from trees by firemen. We only feature stories that are substantive and optimistic-- granite and good!

Granite Goodness highlights progress and problem solving across New England in climate, energy, sustainability, housing, infrastructure, economics, workforce development, science, technology, and non-profits. We provide readers and listeners with regional, rational optimism through an explicitly nonpartisan, solutions-oriented lens.

My work has been recognized through honors such as Stay Work Play New Hampshire’s Young Person of the Year Award (2025), UNH's Alumni Sustainability Award (2025), Catapult Seacoast's 10 to Watch Award (2025), and serving as a co-host of TEDx Portsmouth 2025-- the largest TEDx event in New England.
